Top / Opening
Loud, aggressive, smoky — the opening is dominated by bergamot, black pepper, fir, laurel leaf, neroli, and nutmeg.
Here you’ll also get a blast of char, embers, scorched woods, and almost hot-smoke / leather undertones. Some reviews describe the opening as “forest fire,” “burnt wood & rubber,” “tattoo studio” vibes, or BBQ ash.
Heart / Mid
As T-Rex calms slightly, a florid middle emerges: champaca, geranium, jasmine, osmanthus, rose, ylang-ylang.
These florals are dense, somewhat syrupy, but they are fought against by the smoke, leather, tars, resins, and “burnt forest” backdrop.
Base / Dry-Down
The base is heavy, dark, rich — resins, cade, leather, cedar, frankincense, patchouli, sandalwood, vanilla, along with synthetic accords like civet (non-animalic) and tar/char notes.
The smoky / burnt / resinous signature continues deep into the dry-down phase. Over time, the florals soften, and the fragrance becomes more about char, woods, resin, and leather, with hints of floral memory and ambered warmth.
🎭 Character, Mood & Wearability
- Mood: Primal, bold, dark, dramatic. It feels like standing in a scorched forest at dusk, smelling embers, resin, charred trees, and then catching glimpses of fragile blossoms that persisted amid the fire.
- Personality: This is not a “safe” or “office” scent; it is a statement. It is aggressive, edgy, unapologetic. You wear it if you want to leave an impression (or dominate the room).
- Season / Time: Best for cooler weather (autumn, winter) or evenings. The richness, smokiness, and intensity make it less suited for hot, humid days.
- Projection & Longevity: Strong projection especially in the early stages. Longevity is considerable — you can expect it to last many hours, especially on clothes. Many users report it evolves but remains perceptible well into the later hours.
